There are two major manufacturers of plush teddy bears that have been making these toys for over one hundred years; Steiff and Gund.

The Steiff Company is a German company that started selling these teddy bears as early as the 1903.  Gund is US Brand Company in Connecticut but founded by a German immigrant, Adolph Gund.  Both of these companies make plenty of plush toys besides their most popular plush teddy bears.  You can still find many of their products today in toy stores, department stores, and all over the internet.

Another well known company who makes teddy bears is the Vermont Teddy Bear.  All of these plush bears are handmade and crafted all in the USA.  The Vermont Teddy Bear company is known for creating each bear uniquely and customizes all of their bears to how you want them.  This company has its own website and will send your bear wherever you want already in its gift box equipped with candies and all.
